Hartree-Fock-Bogoliubov Calculations in the UCOM Framework

چکیده
With the advent of new radioactive beam facilities like FAIR, the structure of exotic nuclei far beyond the valley of stability can be probed experimentally, providing a strong motivation for theoretical studies using ab initio approaches and interactions which provide a stringent link to QCD as the fundamental theory of the strong interaction. To this end, we apply second-generation VUCOM interactions [1] derived from the realistic AV18 interaction for the description of open-shell nuclei in a HartreeFock-Bogoliubov framework. To disentangle the effects of the particle-hole (ph) and particle-particle (pp) channels, we first use VUCOM as a pairing force in conjunction with the Gogny D1S interaction providing the ph-mean-field. In Fig. 1, the resulting gaps ∆μ of the canonical state with the lowest quasiparticle energy Eμ = √

The Unitary Correlation Operator Method (UCOM) provides a means for nuclear structure calculations starting from realistic NN potentials. The dominant short-range central and tensor correlations are described explicitly by a unitary transformation. The application of UCOM in the context of the no-core shell model provides insight into the interplay between dominant short-range and residual long...
متن کاملContact Pairing Interaction for the Hartree- Fock-bogoliubov Calculations
Properties of density-dependent contact pairing interactions in nuclei are discussed. It is shown that the pairing interaction that is intermediate between surface and volume pairing forces gives the pairing gaps that are compatible with the experimental odd-even mass staggering. Results of the deformed Hartree-Fock-Bogoliubov calculations for this \mixed" pairing interaction, and using the tra...
متن کاملA Multi-Configuration Mixing Approach with Symmetry-Projected Complex Hartree-Fock-Bogoliubov Determinants
A multi-configuration mixing approach built on essentially complex, symmetryprojected Hartree-Fock-Bogoliubov (HFB) mean fields is introduced. The mean fields are obtained by variation after projection. The configuration space consists out of the symmetry-projected HFB vacuum and the symmetry-projected twoquasiparticle excitations for even, and the symmetry-projected one-quasiparticle excitatio...
متن کامل0 Coulomb exchange and pairing contributions in nuclear Hartree – Fock – Bogoliubov calculations with the Gogny force
We present exact Hartree–Fock–Bogoliubov calculations with the finite range density dependent Gogny force using a triaxial basis. For the first time, all contributions to the Pairing and Fock Fields arising from the Gogny and Coulomb interactions as well as the two-body correction of the kinetic energy have been calculated in this basis. We analyze the relevance of these terms in different regi...
متن کاملComposition of the nuclear periphery from antiproton absorption using short-lived residual nuclei
The neutron-to-proton density ratio at the nuclear periphery was determined for six targets from the yield of nuclei with mass (At21) generated by antiproton annihilation on targets with mass number At . A new setup allowed us to measure this yield for nuclei with half-lives down to 6 s. The experiment confirmed the negative correlation between the peripheral neutron-to-proton density ratio and...
